Christian — The Micro-Movement

In the middle of his yoga exercises in the garden, Christian thinks: why not do the session here too. Back on the synthetic grass — the same surface as Day 11, where the nervous system had been pulled in every direction by the wind, the sun, and the waves. This time, the approach is entirely different.

Moving like the baby

He settles onto his right side, then his left. No searching for edges, no analysis. Instead: micro-movements across the entire body. The way a baby does it naturally — tiny, constant adjustments across every surface in contact with the floor.

What Christian explores is reversibility. The nervous system is constantly in micro-movement, constantly in reversibility. With each inhalation, each exhalation, there is a sensation of coming into deeper contact with the floor. The body settles, stabilises, finds safety.

Above all: the micro-movements do not leave gravity enough time to act fully. You do not feel the edges, you do not discriminate comfort from discomfort. Sensory memory and the intellect are partially neutralised — not absent, but muted. It is very pleasant.

The body has changed

From the shoulders to the head, on the right as on the left, the discomfort from the beginning of the project is gone entirely. The ribs come into contact with the floor, front and back. The pelvis is there, the breathing pushes the belly and the lungs downward. The pelvis slides, the knees slide over each other, the feet slide over each other. A permanent micro-movement — truly small — working the surface of subtlety while remaining connected to this reversibility.

Discomfort disappears completely.

On his back, the same exploration. Christian lifts his feet slightly with bent legs to activate the pelvis, or with feet on the floor, small pulses that generate thousands of micro-movements through the pelvis. The repercussion travels through the spine, through the shoulder blades as they slide, all the way to the head. The body's contact surface with the floor has become very large.

What we retain

Micro-movements cancel discomfort. By moving constantly like the baby, the nervous system stays in reversibility — gravity does not have time to act fully and reveal the edges. Discomfort disappears completely.

Sensory memory and the intellect are partially neutralised. Constant reversibility prevents the discrimination between comfort and discomfort. The body explores without judging, without analysing — it moves.

The body has changed in sixteen days. From the shoulders to the head, the discomfort of the beginning no longer exists. The contact surface with the floor has become very large. The pelvis slides, the knees slide, the feet slide — everything has become movement.

Sixteen days. In the garden after yoga, Christian discovers the baby's micro-movements: the constant reversibility of the nervous system cancels discomfort, partially neutralises sensory memory and the intellect, and increases the contact surface with the floor. The body has changed — the discomfort of the beginning no longer exists.
